Incident Response

Adequate cyber risk management requires responding effectively to an Information Security Incident. UC’s Incident Response Standard establishes the minimum overall requirements for a Location Information Security Incident Response Plan. Effective response limits damage and reduces recovery time and cost.

This Standard supports UC's information security policy, BFB-IS-3 Electronic Information Security. It applies to all Locations, IT Resources, Institutional Information and networks of the University of California.

Please note that Information Security Incidents are divided into “Routine” and “Significant” for the purpose of this Standard. Although both are included, Significant Incidents are its primary focus.
